For two years, I ran along the Thames photographing the river throughout the seasons. These photographs were developed, scanned and compiled to map the relationship between water and light on the river. Traces of this light were etched into magnesium embossing plates to form a tactile relief on the publication's greyboard slipcase, leaving imprints of the Thames on the fingertips of people who interact with the document. Each book is a river. The river represents the deep ecological time of the city, forming past and future spatial boundaries that define our shared environment.
